Do you like decluttering your house?

In what way do you reduce the amount of stuff you have?

I've been trying to do this for the last few years. Although I have been buying things to make storage a little easier. I end up either donating or tossing a lot of things.

I moved into the house I am living in now back in 2020. I literally left half my belongings on the sidewalk at my old place when I moved out ( I scheduled a bulk item pickup with the trash company). I don't miss any of it. Its crazy how I purged half my crap and I still feel like I have a lot of stuff.

I can't stand clutter. It stresses me out. I don't want to feel like I live in a dump. If I notice crap is piling up, my inner Mr.Clean kicks in and I start going through it.

If you have something and don't use it for a year, you won't use it at all. It's time to get rid of it.
I don't keep things I don't use, and every few months, I check what I don't need and throw it away.
This goes for clothes too. Many people keep things they never wear. Like I said, there are exceptions for items with memories or special value. Still, you don't need to keep every little thing.
I don't like a messy place, I couldn't live like that. I used to clean often, but now I can't do it as much because of some problems. Still, there's no mess. I don't mind how others keep their place, but I want to feel relaxed in my own space.

I'm sure you know I was not talking about lawnmowers and stuff like that. i guess if someone rich can do :(

If you don't keep what you don't use and need, you will have more space, and it will always take very little time to organise everything fast.
Because of that, you are happy to do it often, so you will never end up with clutter

I don't make exceptions, even for young kids. When my son was little, everything had its place with no mess. Once, after he played with his toys, I told him to put them away. When he didn't, I said if I had to do it, they'd go in the bin. He thought I was joking, but all the toys ended up in the bin. He had none for months. It never happened again. That's how strict I am.
Even a lawnmower goes if not used for over a year. Why keep it? Grass needs cutting every week or so in summer and less often in winter. If unused for a year, what's the point? Anyway, I don't care what others do in their place, no judgments. But in my space, things go my way. :p
