Fmr. Gov. Ventura on his new book 'DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans,' says politicians should wear racing outfits with names of contributors

The presidential election is about big ideas when it comes to the economy, your money, and your job. President Obama and Mitt Romney are each trying to convince voters that they're more in touch with the struggles of America's middle class, but former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura doesn't buy it. In fact, he calls America's two-party system of government just a bunch of thugs in Brooks Brothers suits.

His view of politicians being similar to gang members is detailed in his new book DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans: No More Gangs in Government and he explains to Christine on Starting Point this morning why he thinks the political system in the U.S. is corrupt.

Bribery. Bribery. You have to bribe the parties, bribe the candidates. If we do that in the private sector, we go to jail. Yet, we have a complete political system based upon bribery. And now, with the Supreme Court's ruling, corporations can give any amount of money to any candidate, and they don't even have to say who they got the money from, Ventura says.

Ventura goes on to say he'd like to see politicians wear uniforms similar to NASCAR race car drivers, with patches for each corporation that has contributed to them. He says he also wishes that party affiliation was not listed on a voting ballot.

Yeah right, like white collar crime is actually prosecuted against.

196 Americans, [font=Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif].000063% of the total population have given 80% of the superpac money spent in the election so far this year.

All that matters in politics is that you try to not start an argument if you can't agree with another politician's ideas.

You'd hope that the SuperPac's on the Republican side would cancel out the ones for the Democrats, but it isn't a zero sum game, instead of balancing, they just make everything worse.

To add to the irony, there is an Anti-Super-Pac super pac, paid for by the son of one of Obama's biggest backers, George Soros.

Nope, the Republicans are getting far far more super pac money. Romney is pulling in so much money it's ridiculous.

Can't campaigning be made illegal somehow?

Or at least put a limit to the amount of money that can be spent...

Or have the lies from both sides vetted by a real Fourth Estate.

Oops!… Obama’s Top Bundler Jonathan Lavine Was In Charge of Bain During GST Steel Layoffs

Obama and top campaign bundler Jonathan Lavine from Bain Capital.

The Obama campaign blamed Governor Mitt Romney for the demise of GST Steel company in a video they released in May. The plant closed in 2001. Mitt left Bain in 1999.

For some reason the Obama camp forgot to mention this…

Obama’s top bundler Jonathan Lavine was in charge of Bain during the BST layoffs.

Mitt Romney did not leave Bain in 1999.

According to SEC filings, he was the CEO, president, and sole owner up until 2002 and then at that point he resigned retroactively back to 1999 (whatever the fuck that means).

There is a difference between being the figurehead and being in charge of day to day operations.

He may have still been on the paperwork, which he shouldn't have been, and the SEC should go after him for it, but it looks like Lavine was running the show.

And there is plenty of guilt to go around, so they can share.
