Dennys Sucks

I remember a year ago I went to dennys on a Friday night with my daughter and this happened (quote from my private blog)

Me and the little one went to Denny's tonight to get some dinner. We were eating our food and I notice a commotion going on in the kitchen, there is guy in there with no shirt on, covered in blood, and has a knife. I thought he was in there killing people. Anyways the security guard was screaming drop the knife and had his gun pointed at the guy. Thats when they told everyone to get out. I picked up my daughter and we ran out the emergency exit. I then immediately got in my car and left. As I was leaving cops were swarming to the restaurant from all directions. My daughter is fine though she didnt really understand what was going on. I just told her that there was bad people in there and we had to go. Now Im safe at home and who knows whats unfolding in the restaurant right now.

Today I read the paper and got the full story, apparently he wasnt a murderer like I thought. He was doing drugs in the neighboring hotel and walked into the restaurant to find a knife so he could cut off his own arm. He thought he injected air (apparently that will kill you) into his arm instead of cocaine. Needless to say I wont be eating at either of the denny's on that side of town anymore. Especally on a Friday night. To look on the bright side, we got a free meal.

So now its been over a year later.. I pick her up after work just as I always do, she says she is hungry. I am too. So I asked her if she wanted to go to Denny's and she agreed. I almost drove to that same Dennys where the incident happened and I thought to myself, NO.. Not doing that again. So we go to another one.. We were eating our food, when all of the sudden two waiters start fist fighting and knocking over tables and just going all out.... My daughter was getting scared so we just got up and left. I didnt even bother to pay for my meal as the other employees were all trying to break up the fight. Several of the people eating there left as well.



I think its safe to say that going to ANY of the Denny's restaurants in my town on a Friday night is a BAD idea.

Woah, that's pretty crazy. Doesn't seem like a professional place at all. Atleast you and your daughter are alright.

Two chumps fighting wouldnt endanger us. What is shocking is they worked there.. I bet they both lost their jobs.

I remember that. Denny's--or any place that is open 24/7--can attract crazies.

You've got that danger with any place...I don't know if Denny's is advertised as a family restaurant but look out for those, the employees are generally nicer. Good that you and your daughter weren't too badly affected by the whole things. Sort of strange how both times you went, there was some sort of a commotion. Makes you think about all the times you WEREN'T there, that it might have happened.

Must be your Denny's on the west coast, because over here, there is no Denny's!

However, that's pretty radical... They could have brought the commotion out side!

None of that ever happens at our Dennys.. I never go to mine anymore, we might do it again for maybe Thanksgiving or Christmas if we all gotta work that day and do it a day before the actual holiday

Going out to dennys for thanksgiving or chirstmas????
