(June 23) --The idea to put lion meat burgers on an Arizona restaurant's menu has met with threatening protests. But it's also attracted such an eager list of customers that the owner had to double the amount of meat on order -- and now he's sold out.

Cameron Selogie decided to serve African lion meat tonight and Thursday to mark the World Cup soccer competition in South Africa. But it wasn't his idea, according to his wife, Cindy, who told AOL News today that the request came from their customers.

If this story is true, then I don't see any problem with it.

If you're a meat eater then does it really matter what animal it comes from as long as it's legal of course?

I don't see anything wrong with it. Animals get killed for food every day, so what difference does it make if it's a lions turn to be on the menu?

Lions on the menu (in America)? That's ridiculous. Guy's practically asking for the ALF to knock on his door.

I find that to be.. oddly adorable. And here I was thinking it was just something they decided to name their new burger. Not for it to be actual Lion's meat. Come on people.. just stick to the type of burgers we already eat. No need to go after other animals.

I would not be able to eat this knowing what it was

Why? They arent endangered and they are no different or of any higher importance than any other animal you eat.

So are cows, pigs, chickens, fish, whales, dolphins, cats, dogs, birds, ducks, but people still eat them.

Not endangered, however they are listed as vulnerable, which means that they are just one step above it. Also, there just seems something inherently wrong with the 'king of the jungle' being turned into lunch.

People eat DOLPHINS? Now that's just disturbing.

You've probably eaten it if you've ever eaten tuna.
