What difficulty setting do you typically choose when starting a game?

I usually start off by picking the normal/medium difficulty. After I complete the game on that difficulty, I move up to the hardest difficulty. That is if the game has replay value.

Normal, and then I like to build up. For instance with TLoU, I went with Normal, then Hard, then Survival, then Grounded. I didn't play on Easy until I had enough experience with it already that I could just do a simple play through.

 That actually made me laugh out loud. Nice one!

In my opinions

Easy is fun
Normal is fun
Hard is frustrating

so, easy and normal for me

Medium difficulty is what I choose. If it's something I haven't played and it's the first time playing, then Novice.

Depends on the game. If I feel confident about it or have played a similar game, I'll do Normal, but if not, I'll do Easy. I never choose Hard right off the bat; I play through once & complete it once, then go back and try again on a harder difficulty.

Usually, I play video games on Normal mode. Except Doom and Doom 2, I always seem to play those games on Hard Mode.

I generally start off by selecting the normal difficulty setting. From there I change the setting when and if I feel comfortable in advancing to the next level of difficulty in the games that I play.

It varies. If I'm new to the game. Than I start out with normal and work my way up.

Depends on the game. I like to play classic Doom on Ultra-violence difficulty. Lots of demons to shoot at and not too much items to pick up, as opposed to 'I'm too young to die' skill level where there's hardly any demons to shoot at and a plethora of ammo I have nothing to spend on, so I have to leave it behind. And I hate leaving anything behind.

What's your go to rifle in the recent game?

Haven't played the recent game yet. My PC is just a wee bit too old to run it. :)

In the classic game, I use shotgun the most, chaingun when I need to quickly clear the room of weaker monsters, rockets and plasma only on large clusters of demons and on bosses.

Brutal Doom mod makes weapons incredibly... well, brutal. :p
