Discord vs Forums

The same concern was voiced about Facebook and such, and like those, Discord will be the same; it will attract a vastly superior number of people than forums will in comparison, but forums will continue in some fashion. Terraria and Minecraft both continue to have official forums that are wildly popular, despite having Discord and Reddit communities. I believe Genshin Impact also has a forum too. So even companies still see a use for forums even with other huge options on the market.
Discord has replaced forums for me. It suits many applications but there will always be a place for forums, though reddit may also be taking a chunk of that traffic. I run a discord server so most of my time is spent there. They are also going to introduce "forum" channels to discord so forum like functionality will soon exist there too.
I heard about that. I wonder if they'll allow software conversions. Like if someone had a XenForo board and they wanted to convert it to a discord forum, they could do that?
I highly doubt it, since there would be no way to attach the content to any particular user because the forum functionality of Discord is just going to be an addition to a standard server like how threads already are.
I use both Discord and Forums. I'm about to integrate my Xenforo board with my Discord server too.
