So, I think we should all take a break from the serious debates to focus on something more fun!

Do you think that Facebook should add a dislike button beside the like button? Why or why not?

Thats not nice..

If people disliked me on face book, I would cut myself.

Just kidding.

I dont even have a face book account.

I don't think they should do that just for the simple fact that there are dumb people out there that will abuse it! Which won't make the button as fun as it was intended for. Like button should be th only one.

I would probably be pretty happy if Facebook just stopped changing at all.

Everything changes. The sooner you adapt, the better. If you can't, you'll be left behind. Some things are kind of pointless, though..

I have joined and seen groups on Facebook with 1m+ people petioning for a dislike button, so quite a lot of people obviously like the idea... suppose the counter argument is that it will be abused.

The like button already is.. So I don't see what difference it makes. Maybe people can set it whether or not they want other people to be able to dislike their statuses.

Much like with the reputation function... it's much easier to abuse the neg rep rather then the positive rep. Same principal applies for like/dislike on Facebook.

Using that principal, do you feel that all - Rep should be eliminated?

No... not having negative reputation takes away the point of having a rep system. I'd like to see a dislike button on Facebook anyway

With your previous posts, I coulda swore you didn't want one.

Haha.

No, I wouldn't like to see a dislike button.

I use the like button a lot if I like something because a lot of time I just don't have the time to post to a bunch of things and if I think something is good I click the like just so my friend knows I was there. I would never use the like button like the example above and if there were ever a dislike button I wouldn't abuse that either.

Dumb people abuse the like button also

I don't really care one way or another if people like or don't like me. it would be kinda cool to have a dislike button, but the government would have a hissy fit because it might hurt people's feelings. And besides, as most people have already said, it would probably get abused.
