That was sad to read. I'm glad, however, that for the most part it's better for you now.Not me personally.
I have however been disowned. When I got out of the military I went straight to Virginia. I'm from Colorado. I went for a woman and spent a year and a half out there. My family disowned me for it too.... I came back to Colorado and it's better for the most part now. It was rough though.
I haven't. There is a nurse at work who totally disowned her son. When he told her he is gay, she threw him out of the house. She has no contact with him even though they live in the same town. I find this so very sad but it's her loss (IMO) and not his.
Those cases of disowning must vanish for once. But sometimes the only way to solve it is by living independently and (if he/she decides to) with his/her S.O.I haven't. @Jazzy When I got out of the military I was so lost. They kinda just drop you on your butt and say have a nice day. There isn't much direction. So I thought at the time it was the right thing to do.
I'm sorry they did that. Here this is for you....I do appreciate that.
It happens, regardless of how they treated me, it was still rough to have your family do that. I try not to do that to others.
I guess it's just the way the family has always been bought up, after generations of a family having certain family rules it could be hard to just snap out of them and disobey your entire family history. It's messed up and sadly disowning a family member happens way too often than it should over.I cannot understand why a parent would have the capacity to do this to their own child. This isn't like they're breaking the law, hurting people or doing something bad. I get that it might be for them, but that's just one of the most cold and callous things I think a person could do to their child.
