Dissecting Animals

Nope. They stopped that at my school the year before I would have had to do it.

Yuck, a cat?!

That was in your own time wasn't it? Surely they didnt make you do that in school!

There's a series on TV over here at the mo, called Animal Autopsies. They dissect big animals. One show, they had a giraffe on. My fiance switched over to it when people in his IRC channel were saying about it. Not nice! Luckily he only kept it on for a minute!

No it was at school.. Why would I do that on my own time?

I just couldnt imagine a school getting anyone to dissect a cat....and I know what some boys are like, I thought u might have done it when you were a child

I thought it was gross.. But we had a weird science teacher in 10th grade.

Let's see--

earthworm

crayfish

clam

fish

frog

seems like some other stuff, but I don't remember what.

We do dissection quite a bit at school, I think I've done a lung, two hearts, and an eye. Or more. I forget. We work in groups, and at least one person has to do it, but the vegans and the ones who don't want to just have to watch. If it's really unbearable then we look at the instruction sheet and the anatomy or whatever and figure it out from there.

I don't think it really helped me much since I was too squeamish to LEARN much from it, but whatever. I'll leave the animal cruelty debate for someone else.
