Getting back on topic, as far as house maintenance goes my Dad is pretty useful so he does it.
I, myself like jazzy, tend to do what I can. Though I'm not currently in the position to have to call for help since I don't live on my own.
I do most of it myself, but have no trouble getting in help when and if needed.
Like electrics, i will put in and wire my own plugs and stuff, but when it comes to the main electrical board I would rather get in an a professional.
