DNA Tests

Do you think its insulting for the man to ask the woman for a DNA test on the child?

Yeah (if the man and woman were in a relationship) its basically calling the woman a cheater. However if the man wants it done and is willing to pay for it, he can go down and get the DNA test done without ever telling the mother. Well if it came back that he wasnt the father then I suppose he would have to tell her something.

Depends on the situation, if you had a one night stand and a year later the woman comes back with your supposed child, I think it's more than normal.

If there is any doubt that the child was not theirs then I would say a DNA test is necessary.



True story:



A guy that I know was paying child support for a child that was not his. The older the child got, the more doubt he had. His wife, at the time, had had an affair with one of his friends. This poor guy not only paid child support but bonded with this child. The DNA test which was ordered by the court, proved this child was not his. Very sad situation but he has managed to stay in the childs life.

Very sad situation indeed but its great that he has been able to keep the bond he formed with the child.

If I were in that situation I would not just disappear because a paper said the child was not biologically mine.

HOWEVER its stupid that the courts make him pay child support for a child that he did not conceive. They should go after the real father for that.
