Do you believe there is life after death? What are your beliefs about what happens to human beings after they die? Where is your soul going? I think there is something beyond after we die.

Yes, I think there is life after death.
I can't imagine just exactly how it works. Just have to wait and see, I reckon. :)

Kind of my position, too. I am an agnostic on most metaphysics, meaning I don't think questions like this or "Is there a God?" are provable and rely more on belief than rational or empirical "proof". So I do not have believe in an afterlife, but I don't reject the idea either. It's simply not something I currently believe in but I can't really say with certainty that there is not one either.

I do think reincarnation makes more sense than a heaven/hell or similar "afterlife". The universe works in a cyclical way for the most part, e.g. a star dies by going nova or supernova and then its remains reappear in new stars or planets. Even universes might be cyclical if they are born from black holes in prior universes as some suggest. So it kind of seems sensible to me that souls might be part of the cycle. But, again, I don't really believe in souls or reincarnation and don't think one can "prove" them. It's just speculation on my part.

I used to believe in an afterlife because I was raised Catholic and they brainwashed it into me. When I was about ten I read about the inquisition and the conquering of the Americas by the Spanish. So much for a loving God!!!

Which says nothing about whether there is an afterlife, just that the Church is run by evil colonialist imperialists. Lots of people have believed, and do believe, in an afterlife without being either Catholic or even Christian.

Sorry, I screwed up my post, it should have read, "I used to believe in an afterlife because I was raised Catholic and they brainwashed it into me. When I was about ten I read about the inquisition and the conquering of the Americas by the Spanish. So much for a loving God!!!"

Sorry I hit enter before the rest of this post was done so i'll have to do it again when I wake up. It's almost three am and I have to get my beauty sleep.

Well, we do know for certain on one thing that happens :p

You forgot the government and its "inheritance tax" on whatever they get.
Oh, we don't have those in Canada (yet). Just usurious "probate fees" on the value of the estate. So an inheritance tax in all but name, though because it is charged on the value of the estate at probate, there's ways around it. The trick is to make sure as little of your wealth goes through the estate as possible. For instance, if you and your spouse have property or accounts in joint (which we have been doing for just this reason), those just go to the survivor without flowing through the estate.

What does the actions of Men have to do with the Love of God?

Did you know that thousands of years ago a bunch of Jews were sitting around a fire drinking beer and smoking pot when one of them said, "Hey let's write a book and screw up mankind for the rest of eternity" and thus the Bible was created.

It's obvious that the actions of men are influenced by their interpretations of the Bible and this is how American Christians treated their fellow Americans, the Mormons.

Missouri Executive Order 44 (known as the Mormon Extermination Order) issued on October 27, 1838 by the governor at the time.

Below is an excerpt from Missouri Executive Order 44 (known as the Mormon Extermination Order) issued on October 27, 1838 by the governor at the time.

"Claiming that Mormons had committed open and avowed defiance of the law and had made war upon the people of Missouri, Governor Boggs directed that "the Mormons must be treated as enemies, and must be "exterminated" or driven from the State if necessary for the public peace—their outrages are beyond all description."

This article is the 1838 Mormon War which somewhat gives the reasons those fine American Christians wanted to commit Mormon genocide.

Take what can be interpreted as fantasy or meaningless it wouldn't be a very thick book.

Again, nothing to do with the existence of God or an afterlife. Whether or not there is a God, religion is a human creation. You can't really blame God for our failings. And belief in God and an afterlife are not just Christian beliefs in any case so your (justifiable, by the way) slamming of the behaviour of Christians is kind of beside the point of this thread as I already pointed out.

The Jewish scriptures (aka The Old Testament to Christians) were written over centuries and some may have been oral traditions before that. They are the collected wisdom of a culture, not just a bunch of guys trying to "screw up mankind". And the Christian scripture (aka The New Testament) was written by the early teachers and founders of the church. The fact that subsequent generations and branches of both faiths interpreted those scriptures in harmful ways doesn't mean they were written to "screw up mankind".

It isn't worth my time to read another word of anything you enter.

Nope. I need physical, real proof of anything before I believe it. Blind "belief" and "faith" are not proof.
