You Forgive and Forget

forgive-and-forget.jpg

Life's too hard to hold grudges, so you try to get over being wronged as quickly as you can.
Those around you may or may not deserve your forgiveness, but you deserve the peace of letting go.

Of course, if someone wrongs you enough, you may not allow that person in your life any longer. But you will still try to forgive.
For you, forgiving is about moving on and wiping the slate clean... not about letting someone hurt you over and over again.

In general, you wish we lived in a more compassionate and merciful world. You do believe that most people can change.
Some may consider forgiveness a sign of weakness, but you know that it is often the strongest move you can make.

Do You Forgive and Forget?

You Forgive But Do Not Forget

You forgive because it's the right thing to do for yourself. You need the peace of mind that comes with forgiveness.
And while you will forgive and move on from an incident, you will never forget. Things can't always go back to the way they were.

You are rightfully wary of anyone who has hurt you in the past, and this goes triple for those who have intentionally hurt you.
You don't wallow in anger or sadness, but you do place appropriate new boundaries when you forgive someone. You don't make the same mistake twice.

You agree with the idea that people can change, but you also think we are the sum of our actions - good and bad.
You believe that if we are quick to forget, we may make the same mistakes with people twice (or more!).
