We have public holiday whenever there is a election but our workplace let us work on Sundays to compensate for that.

Our election day always falls on Saturday or Sunday when most people do not have to work.

Yes. It is a declared holiday here.

Our elections are spread over several days and in phases and so declaring a holiday does not seem reasonable

We do have a holiday on election day but some of the companies/ offices make their employees work on Sunday to compensate for that
