I can have issues with social anxiety and depression so it isn't always easy for me to recognize how many friends I have. Although I have improved immensely on that front these past 4 years. There are a fair number of people that get along with me at work and I am genuinely happy when I see them. I have a handful of friends too and a few really close friends. It will always amuse me that one of my close friends, just told me to talk to her one day at work. She is such a bubbly and optimistic person.

Haha that’s me, I’m bubbly too but optimistic? Maybe not. You’re a great friend man, very easy to talk to. So glad I got to know you 💜💜

For me, online, you’re either at least a reasonably close friend or more of an acquaintance. Idk why that is, because IRL I manage to maintain the more casual friendships. I reckon it’s because there’s such a variety of ppl to choose from online that when you don’t instantly click, I don’t find it worth expending further energy on, and conversation drying out can be pretty awkward and more so online than IRL, especially as IRL you can choose to meet up for a particular activity rather than doing nothing for the less close friends.

IRL? I have around 10-20 friends altogether and more like 2-3 close friends. They’re all important to me in different ways though, even the casual friendships. Variety is the spice of life.
