Do you let members advertise in their profile statuses?

I don't agree with allowing members to advertise their sites in the profile status section on forums. Most forums offer a section in which you can advertise your sites and that should be more than enough to share your sites.
I always find using the profile status updates to share your link to your forum as spam.

I think user's profile is their own space within the forum. If a user does contribute to the community, they should be allowed to do so. Always within parameters not posting bad links or something that goes against the general rules of the forum.
There should be a way to filter out profile posts with links from been displayed in the forum's main section if that bother the admins.
