Do You Still Wear a Mask?

Do You Still Wear a Mask?

We still are required to wear a mask to enter any medical facility, and throughout the visit unless otherwise requested. Other than that, not since our 'mandate' has been lifted.
To me wearing a mask in medical facilities makes sense, Covid or not. Who knows what everyone in the waiting room is carrying and I'd rather not catch a cold or anything from them while waiting to see a doctor, especially when you get that one person who coughs without covering their mouth. :P

We always used to call doctors' waiting rooms "Disease Central".

I know right, people should have been doing that since they invented doctors and hospitals.

Not anymore. I had a medical excemption anyway but whenever the numbers went up too high I would wear a mask even if I couldn't breath in it.

Yes. Working in healthcare makes it real easy to see just how many people are getting sick. It's not even covid I'm worried about, but the flu, RSV, and other Viral URI's, etc. Part of my concern, too, is that I don't get sick pay at work. I have to use my PTO and the last thing I want to do is use that up for an illness. So yeah, I'm still wearing masks. I wear them mostly around people or in tight quarters. If I'm alone or in an outdoor setting spread far enough from other people, I won't wear one.

I can see that for healthcare workers, you probably were wearing them before the pandemic too?

I've only worked in healthcare for 1 year and 8 months. Before that, I was in retail management, so no we weren't masking.

I wore a mask when around people last week because I didn't want to get sick before my vacation.
Hard to do when we've been so relaxed, but very SMART imo.
.....btw, so far so good with reaction to that Covid booster shot I got almost a month ago. (y)
