Do you think animals have feelings?

What kinds of emotions do they have besides hungry?

They show happiness at positive attention from their people.
Dogs show pleasure when they are successful at "chores"...i.e. sit, stay, shake, down, etc. - - - or maybe I'm just reading 'pleasure' into that, probably the expectation of getting a treat.

Dogs can show great sadness at being left behind.

Yes, they do. They are life forms so yes.

Yes, there is undeniable empirical evidence that animals do have feelings.
Scientific research backs the idea of emotions in animals. In fact, researchers have observed empathy in them, as well as grief, fear and other complex emotions often associated primarily with humans

100% they do!

Abso-fucking-lutely they do. When one of my cats passed away a few years ago, my other boy cat who grew up with her from about 8-9 weeks old realized she wasn't doing well and laid down beside her when she was being euthanized in my apartment. He was very upset and scared listening to me bawl my eyes out and for sure he knew this was a sad moment. Unfortunately, he had to deal with a similar situation with her sister four years later, but I brought her to an emergency animal hospital and had to say goodbye there, so he wasn't present. He definitely was sad and lonely since he was the only kitty for a few months until I got my kitten back in May-ish of 2022. And that's just one example.

Animals have feelings for the one that takes good care of them. I remember last year when I was away from home for a while and upon my return, my cat couldn't welcome me happily 😂

Animals definitely do have feelings. My cat Gizmo always greets my spouse and I whenever we first come home from work. He's got different sounding meows too, I always hear him behind the door whenever I'm walking down the steps after I get off work. Also he'll let you know whenever he wants attention too, he'll come up and headbutt you and meow.

They sure do. They also have complex language and communication skills with each other as well.

Yes! My cats talk to each other with their 'body language' & tail motions. :D

He belongs on the show My Cat From Hell. Let Jackson Galaxy handle him 😁
I used to watch that show religiously! Tons of fun, totally informative too; that guy was amazing.
