Proponents of animal sports argue that animals are used safely and humanely, and that they are essential for entertainment. On the other hand, opponents of animal sports argue that it is unethical to use animals for entertainment, as it can lead to their mistreatment and exploitation. The debate over the ethical implications of using animals in sports is likely to continue, as both sides have valid points to consider.

What are your thoughts on using animals in sports?

Horse and dog racing, bull-fighting, dog-fighting, some rodeo sports are all un-ethical, IMO.

On the other hand, the animals used for donkey basketball are usually well-groomed, well fed and receive good vet care. They don't seem to be any 'worse the wear' for participating in the "sport".

I always feel bad when animals are used in any form of human entertainment. Even if the animals are well cared for and don't seem bothered by what they're doing.
I think that donkey basketball is a game where the animals can get the best of the people, even the grown-ups.

...and, I've never known of any animals being hurt, abused or having to be euthanized 'on the track' or drugged for the sake of winning. I can imagine that it's entertaining and stimulating for the donkeys as well.
