A lens cap offers protection for your camera lens. It's a good idea to keep the cap on when your camera isn't in use.

Do you use them?

Hi? @Zuul , I do not use camera lens, but so thankful to you sharing about this .I might do.

I have a glass protector over the camera lenses on my new iphone if that counts.

I am going to mall to scout the price of a glass protector this afternoon. It is indeed very important.

Its probably way more expensive at the mall. They're cheap on amazon, ebay, etc.

It’s supposed to help with lens flair but I use to protect the lens and don’t have to worry about cleaning it with my shirt.

:Duh: I should have known that. Do you have a lot of issues with lens flare on sunny days without the UV filter?

You have entered a serious, serious debate in the photography community. Today’s modern glass has coatings on it that prevent flair. Some people think it’s absolutely wrong to put them on and me I hate lens caps and always use them. They did a very comprehensive test years ago of all the uv makers with lasers. They make several great ones that don’t affect image quality.

Then we have lens hoods where an absolute majority of the community use and like usual I’m bucking the trend and never use them. If I was using really cheap lenses or antique lenses I’d find a use for them.
