Yes, the media DOES have a double-standard...or at least 49% of the viewing public does...

when they focus on the "stupid" things female elected representatives say and give a pass to the equally absurd things uttered by their male counterparts.

Thank you for noticing - and highlighting! - that double-standard, webster! :tup2:

yes there is a double standard. We seem to have ton's of these in this country.. It never ends and probably never will.

It's quite sad actually.

...but what are the other 51% doing, watching American Idol The Voice MSNBC some form of mindless television? The point I was trying to make, though, was that there is a double standard...but as usual, it sailed right over your head, didn't it?:rolleyes:

51% was a reference to the approximate quantity of women on the planet.

Obviously, the point I did make (not merely the point that was "trying" to be made by you) did - in fact - "go right over your head".

*Odd*.

You're a mod on this site? Is it OK for mods to make personal attacks while making posts in reply to others? Is that a right reserved just for mods...or is it available to ALL the site's participants?

To answer your question, its not okay for anyone to personally attack each other.

I didn't think so. But, it's still there, in black-and-white...and I even bolded and enlarged it...so, according to The Proof's-in-the-Pudding Theory,

it is.

Not a problem. Double-standards while discussing double-standards just makes the whole topic so much more interesting.
