Drinking Age

Do you think the drinking age should be lowered or raised in your area? Fine how it is?
What are your thoughts on underage drinking?

It is being raised. Will be 18 by 2014, or so I've heard.
I rather fail to see the point.

They could raise it to 50 for all I cared, however, I'd say lower is better. I've raised the point about safer environments before. And frankly, I feel people should be able to enjoy a drink, if they so choose, before having to be adults.

If your old enough to vote and old enough to go to war then your old enough to drink. Imagine telling someone wearing a U.S. military uniform that they can't vote or drink but they can fight and die for their country.
Not too screwed up they once were.
The problem is not so much the age but it's the aftermath of getting caught drinking and driving. Slaps on the wrist, warnings, fine.....all just bullshit. You get caught drinking and driving you lose your car for a extended period of time and when you get it back you pay all storage fees as well.
Like most everything else people are just wishy washy when it comes to crime and punishment. Small wonder it will never really go away.
