Ugh...so last night, I enrolled in this online drivers ed course...should be able to get my permit in a few days now.

I'm like...one of the last kids in my grade to get their permit or license...heck, I'm 17. XD

I took a parent taught course originally...went to the DMV many times to take my test, but we always seemed to be missing something or something would go wrong - one time, the guy's computer crashed and we couldn't pull up the stuff.

Anyway...that course I originally took isn't being used anymore...so I have to retake drivers ed...and I'm doing it online.

Drivers Ed sucks.

It's great that you can do this online! I wish you the best of luck with this

it might suck but it might save your life too

take care when you do get behind the wheel

I've been behind the wheel tons of times...I'm actually a really good driver. I just can't drive legally. XD

Dont you have to take some behind the wheel training with an instructor?

I have to get my permit first.

6 hours of study (reading the book) and I can get my permit

Then it's like...32 classroom hours (online studying) and 50 driving hours (10 at night)...6 months with my permit and I can get my license.

I can take behind the wheel with my mom since I'm doing parent taught.

I remember drivers ed. I did it in a class after school and did private lessons cuz I didn't have a car. My Aunt gave me a couple of lessons to help me out. I became a really good driver and got my license. Shortly after getting my license, I was able to buy a car (Honda Accord LX 1992) for $1800. Then I was free to drive where I wanted. I used my car to take my mom to the store, laundromat myself to college and back, and to the bank and other places I can't think of.

It's great having a car.

Good luck with your online course.

Wow. Such a long process to getting your license over there. Here you just take a theory test (once you turn 15) of the road rules and pass that and you can drive (with an adult). After 6 months you can sit a practical test. Pass that and you obtain your restricted license which allows you to drive without passengers. Once that's been held for 18 months you can sit another practical test. Pass that and you have your full license.

The restricted period can be shortened to 12 months if you take an approved course (eg, defensive driving).

Its only a lot of work if you are under 18.

Makes me wish I had taken Drivers Ed back in High School. Although I'm not sure if they even offered it.

My high school doesn't offer driver's ed. Most people that have parents that can't teach them have to go to a different school to take the course.

Anyway...taking the test on Friday. :r

Ohh. Good luck on it Madyy!
