Over the course of my time on forums, I have ran into the occasional drunk person. Now, I will have a beer or two after work when Im relaxing and thats no big deal... But some people like to sit at their computer and drink glass after glass of wine, can after can of beer, etc until they are totally drunk. Then they go around acting a fool all over the place. If you have encountered this, do you find this to be funny or annoying? Do you think people should stay off the computer while drunk?

sometimes its funny, but if they start disrespecting members or staff, then its time to ban them

I'd just ban them for 12 hours or a day.. give them time to sober up.

lol

Most of the time they're harmless, but if things get out of hand then you have to take some form of action.

You'd be amazed what people are capable of when they are drunk.

During the time that I ran forums, when I was in the forum owning stage, I don't think I've ever had a drunk person signing up to or posting on any of my sites, so I don't think I would know what to watch out for if I ever went back to forum owning again. I mean, I know what to look out for if I see someone who is drunk personally, but over the Internet, that'd be pretty hard to spot, wouldn't it?

I seen a few who got drunk in front of the computer and some who came online after getting drunk. Some can't type at all while others can type as perfectly as they are when sober. lol

I usually just put the person in mod que as I rather they be able to post still while not bothering anyone so they can look at how dumb they were when they sober up. I can't do that though when Scotty does it on ZNB because he's admin so we just keep a lookout for his junk posts so we can trash them. lol

Drunken posters are hilarious (sometimes). But when it causes grief on the forum, I'd give 'em a temp ban to get some sleep. LOL.

Okay, this sounds like a stupid question, but what exactly do you look out for when it comes to watching out for these kinds of people?

You can just tell when people are drunk. When you've had members on your forum long enough, you can tell when something's up.

Well, my site is at least a year old (turned one year old back in August) and thankfully any and all members we've had, whether it be through post exchanges, package requests, etc. are nearly always sober when they turn up. So I've never had this happen before which I guess is why I asked.

Only one member came to my forum while drunk. I don't tolerate drunken behaviour at all.

So what did you end up doing with this member?
