Elderly nun gang raped

A gang of burglars has raped a nun who is aged over 70.

The shocking incident happened when the elderly woman was trying to prevent seven or eight men from ransacking a Christian missionary school in Nadia district, eastern India.

The men escaped with money and valuables from the Convent of Jesus and Mary School, leaving the nun in a serious condition in hospital on Saturday.

They reportedly took the her to another room when she tried to block their way and then raped her, according to a policeman.

Officers are searching for the suspects, who also tied the school’s security guards with ropes.
