Two of my colleagues at the workplace had a serious clash last week that culminated with the management suspending both for a period of 2 weeks. It was a very bad thing to experience.

The cause of that quarrel is yet unknown, but I begin to wonder what caused such fight? Have you ever been in such situation?

I have never had any issues with any fellow colleagues at my workplace. I mind my business whenever I'm at work and go home after I'm done. I don't mingle at work.

Nope. I haven't had issues with coworkers before. Most of mine I got along well with. One time a coworker I totally didn't expect to go off ended up going off. It was so long ago, and think he did apologize.

I try and stay professional and nice to everyone I work with, but sometimes, being a manager you have to challenge people and they don't like that, especially if you are suggesting they are doing something wrong.
But I think if you have mutual respect and they know you aren't just picking on them, then it is fine.

I can't say that any time I have worked out of the home with others I have ever clashed with another colleague. I did once have a time when me and a few others were accused of stealing money from the cash register until they finally found out who was doing it but I wouldn't say that I clashed with anyone whilst they were looking into it. I was just glad to not have been accused and fired for something I didn't do.

I've had issues with coworkers many times who ended up quitting or getting fired. Some people don't listen very well and show a repeated refusal to do as they're told on the job. Those people made things harder and it was relief to see them go.

I'm sorry to hear you were accused of theft you didn't do, that must have been so stressful :( Anyhow glad it's resolved now :)

Once - I remember at a job I had, we would all be called to help pull a truck (unload the pallets of freight off the truck), and there was an issue where the trucks would always arrive when people were on their lunch period and / or people would outright ignore the request to come help. I remember I was the only one there to unload a truck of some twenty-something pallets, and, as I was unloading it, I would continuously walk by a co-worker who actively pretended to not see me despite the fact I had to go around him some five or six times. Eventually, I called him out on it and just outright told him he needs to go help, and I remember he snapped at me, told me to "watch my fucking mouth," and yelled.

He was an older guy (in his late-forties) and had been a manager at the company before, so I think he had the opinion he could get away with it. He walked to the back, got one single pallet and yelled, "There, are you fucking happy?" and ran off. Unfortunately, we weren't alone at that point, and the wrong person heard him - he was fired and that was that.

A few years later, he came back to the company and was buddy-buddy with me, and I never had a problem with him again.

Wrong person or you could say right person in that case :P
Yea it's nuts how ppl who are senior think they can talk down to more junior staff. I think the culture where juniors are always wrong in disagreements with seniors needs to change. Seniors should have good listening skills too... I think a flaw in promotion processes in some companies is getting promoted for excelling in the current role without consideration given to soft skills like active listening, etc.
