Ever go to work sick?

Hell no. hehe Also, one time when I felt great, I called in sick because I wanted to assemble my new PC. LOL
I've called in sick and went to a theme park. Came back to work with a sunburn. Lol

Yes.

Colds, coughs, and even at one time went with a fever and a sore ass throat. It turned out it was strep. This was many years ago at my first job. I tried to tell my mom I was feeling like shit... I was in high school at the time, and yeah... Basically sucked it up that day, went to school, seen the nurse, and was sent home. Nurse advised me to see my doctor or go to a clinic which I/we did.

Back in the day going to work sick seemed like it was encouraged, now they write people up or fire people who knowingly go into work sick.

As a polar opposite to my coworkers who call in sick every time they so much as sneeze, the idea of using health as an excuse to avoid going to work is alien to me, unless I'm completely incapacitated, or I'm under doctor's orders to stay put, which happened back in 2018 when my GP discovered I have a severely elevated blood pressure (180 / 120) during a routine checkup, immediately sending me to sick leave, despite me not feeling any ill effects, thus being able to work.

Don't you have an office job? Its easier to get through a work day with mild symptoms when you're just sitting at a desk all day?

Yes, an office job. That's what irritates me about my coworkers, fellow IT technicians I share the office with. They both made it clear they don't like the job and don't want to do it, so they purposely look for any excuse not to show up. Their GPs are more than happy to enable them in that practice.

Have them come do yard work all day like me and they'll appreciate their office jobs more. :P

I feel COVID has changed how employers handle sick employees/staff or at least I hope...

I have had BP that high before which got me put on to blood pressure medication. I think I am doing just fine now though.

I'm on blood pressure regulators and beta blockers. Apparently, my heart rate is also a wee bit too high.

Yeah less of them trying to talk you into coming into work. I've been asked to come in and work half a shift before when I tried to call in. That doesn't happen anymore.

What is a beta blocker?

What is a beta blocker?
It's a blocker that comes after alpha blocker and before gamma blocker, but that doesn't matter now. ;)
