Favorite forum software?

Sometimes I wonder how they come up with these numbers. They just slap an arbitrary dollar amount on things it seems.

I am sure they put thought in it. People think different about these things. Lets face it, if someone like IPB better than XF, they will pay for it. For me, it was about getting something done and for a good price. Already have the software and just needed to renew. I thought I was going to have to do a bunch of SQL database work.

I used to love IPB, but it's way too expensive now and too bloated IMO. Xenforo just does everything better IMO. It's funny because about 10 years ago I used to dislike Xenforo for some reason and praised IPB. My have the tables turned!

Well to be fair 10 years ago IPB had a superior product. Not so much anymore.

Jcink, just because it's what I use and what I'm most familiar with. I was an InvisionFree/ZetaBoards junky and I think Jcink is the forum platform that best resembles that software.

Jcink uses the same software that InvisionFree used, which is IPB.

Looks like https://ipbfree.com still exists, another free forum host that used that version of IPB.

I'm aware that it uses a modified version of IPB. 👍

I thought iPBFree was long dead/discontinued, odd to see it still exists indeed.

Yeah, I wonder if you can still create a board, or if any boards are still active on their platform?
