How long did it take you to feel at home with your current forum? Like, going on it every day, getting used to going on it, etc? I don't know why, but for me it took three years to get used to the idea of owning a forum. You all know how my forum owning history has been... When I first started I couldn't even keep a forum up for a week! But now it's been almost a month since Chatting Time has been revitalized, and I feel we are really doing well. I've had a few spurts of wanting to close the forum here and now already, but I seem to be good at resisting the temptation to do such a thing, because I know if I do, I'll only be back at it a week or two later. So, what's your story on this subject?

For some strange reason, I don't know why, but it took me quite some time to get used to the whole prospect of having my own forum. It just felt weird to be going from obeying instructions given by others to all of a sudden be giving instructions (creating rules, etc.) I guess you could say it was just a whole new ball game for me, really. I mean, look at how far we're coming? We're only a month old and we're already doing quite well. We got some awesome mods coming, including a Newsletter mod, which will cut down on mass emails and mass PM's alike... and well, I guess I don't know what to say, this is really becoming an awesome experience for me. It's actually making me sit back and think, what is it that I'm doing now that I haven't done in the past? You know...

I feel at home with a forum that has a simplistic layout and has that old Internet look. No hard to read colors or complex graphics, only necessary scripts on the page (because let's face it, there are a lot of websites that abuse Javascript, Flash, and PHP, and take it overboard), and easy browsing. Websites like those have a nostalgic feel to them and are just nice.
