Should ex-felons have the right to vote?

In some states, ex-felons, that is people who have served their entire sentence and, thus, theoretically, have paid their debt to society, do not have the right to vote. Should this be changed? Or kept the same? Should it be more specific to charges?

Debate & Discuss.

Also, instead of creating another thread.. On the same podium.. Do you feel current felons deserve/ should have the right to vote?

Some people feel strongly against it? I don't care. They're still people. No reason why not, I suppose.

People make mistakes. If they done their time and payed for their crimes, then why should they have to pay for it for the rest of their lives?

Not being able to vote, get a job (because they failed the criminal background check) etc etc etc

What about current convicts?

Well if they are in jail, then they wouldnt be able to go vote now would they?

I dont think people IN jail should vote.. But people who have done their time and returned to society should be able to.
