BBC host under fire after saying female rape victims ‘give out the wrong signals’ during Ched Evans debate.

BBC Radio Norfolk presenter Nick Conrad hosts a ‘programme which gets the county talking’, according to the website.

We doubt this is what they had in mind.

Mr Conrad sparked outrage today after saying that women were responsible for men’s actions if they ‘give out the wrong signals’ during a debate segment on footballer Ched Evans.

The 29-year-old talk show host for BBC Radio Norfolk was called ‘Alan Partridge’s evil twin’ and ‘Neanderthal man’ by one commentator for his ill-advised remarks on Evans, who is back in training with Sheffield United after serving a sentence for rape.

‘[If women] don’t wish to give out the wrong signals, it’s best probably to keep your knickers on and not get into bed [with a man],’ said Mr Conrad.

‘It’s the old adage about if you yank a dog’s tail, don’t be surprised when it bites you.’

Rape Crisis spokeswoman Katie Russell said the comments were an example of how ‘the current debate around convicted rapist Ched Evans’s potential return to professional football has highlighted a range of much broader, problematic issues.

This came up in the Mike Tyson rape trial.

The 'lady' had spent the evening pawing all over Tyson, and then went up to his hotel room with him. What did she think was going to happen?

And one must concede, that "rape", and all of its variants, is the one felony where the victim can decide the next day, or even much later, such as with the current Bill Cosby mess, whether or not a crime, in fact, occurred.

Regarding Cosby (and the rest of these celebrity rape trials that have popped up recently) I'm very skeptical. They're popping up so much now that I wonder if some of them are just in it for the money.

CNN anchor Don Lemon faced biting criticism after suggesting to Bill Cosby rape accuser Joan Tarshis that she take a bite out of the comedian’s penis rather than perform oral sex.

Tarshis, who came forward on Sunday, claimed she was sexually assaulted by Cosby as a 19-year-old aspiring actress in 1969.
