Ferndale woman suing after she fell asleep on plane

A woman from Ferndale, Mich. is suing United Airlines after she was left alone on a plane for hours after it had landed.



Ginger McGuire was aboard a United Express flight from Washington, DC to Philadelphia. She says she fell asleep during the flight. It landed shortly after midnight Tuesday but no one woke her up until a cleaning crew found her four hours later.



United Airlines says they are working with a regional partner carrier to determine why the plane wasn't cleared upon landing.



McGuire told reporters, I fell asleep on the plane and next thing you know I wake up, it's 4:00 in the morning. Nobody's on the plane. Nothing.



McGuire has hired Geoffrey Fieger who is filing a lawsuit for false imprisonment, emotional distress and negligence.

How can you not see a person on a plane, when people are getting of?

I thought people were oh so afraid of terrorism etc... They don't even make sure the plane's empty!

I dont know what she can sue for though.. How is she going to get any money or pain and suffering or whatever? She probably woke up, got off the plane and resumed her life. Whats the big deal?

I'm surprised that she didnt wake up when the plane landed and everyone got off, she must sleep like a log

While I agree it was neglience on the part of the flight attendants or cabin crew not to check that the plane was clear of passengers, people now-a-days are sue happy. If anything, United Airlines should refund her ticket cost or give her a free air ticket. Maybe she could star in a remake of the movie Dumb & Dumber.
