You've just stumbled upon a large briefcase. No one is around so you open it and find a large amount of cash

If it was a ton of money I'd turn it into the police, no one just loses a ton of money and a large amount would be hot money.

I would go to the police. That big of sum, I personally wouldn't want it in my possession. Now, it would be nice however if the owner, should they get it back, give a few bucks as a nice token of appreciation

I'd leave it alone and let the police deal with it.

In all honesty, I would turn it into the police. If it is legitimate and someone for real lost it, then I would want to make sure it was returned to the correct person.

I will surrender it to a police precinct and ask them to find the owner of this money. It will be a big guilt in my part if I did not do this.

I will just get the suitcase to the nearest police station. it's not my money so I wouldn't touch it.

Its best to find the owner of the cash and if its not possible then I will decide if what to do with it, spend or donate
