Tuesday and Wednesday this week ( 16th & 17th ), I attended a two day Firework competition in Plymouth and it got me thinking.. Do any of you here at Off Topix like or hate Fireworks?

Personally, I love them! My sister in law, on the other hand, is petrified of them and its gotten worse since she became ill.

I came to hate fireworks when a dog I had suffered

so much every year when they were going off and I

heard stories of how idiots planted them under

cars and through the letter boxes of elderly people.

I also heard of the cruelty inflicted on animals, like

cats having them tied to their tails and lit.

I just love watching fireworks. Each year here, they shoot them off barges in the middle of the lake. You can see them from miles away. My dogs, on the other hand, are scared to death of the noise. If I'm working when the firework display is held, I have to have a friend come over and sit with them. Same goes when there's a thunder storm.

I love em. Personally, I like getting a nice long row of Black Cats and lighting the fuse and watching em all blow up at the same time. I try to avoid lighting a single one in my hand.

A week ago we had a fierce thunderstorm and tonight some idiots were letting off fireworks in the street outside. My next door neighbours dog drove us crazy, on both occasions, with his incessant barking.

Personally, I love fireworks. I can ooh and ahh with the best of them as I enjoy all the pretty coloured lights and pops and bangs and fizzles.

My daughter, unfortunately, has very sensitive hearing and, as a toddler, would get extremely upset by all the loud bangs. It was a nightmare. Luckily she's better with them now...and she knows to keep her ears covered!

Ive noticed all of the Fireworks stands out already! 4th of July and fireworks are coming soon! Maybe I'll actually buy some this year. :|
