Fell in love, by accident.
A man I'd met asked me out on a date for the following Saturday night, for a reunion with high school buddies. When he picked me up, I asked him how he wanted me to act (yanno, since taking a date to a reunion is a pretty big deal). He (kiddingly) answered, "I want you to act like you're in love with me." I thought he was serious, so I did. I hung on his every word, gazed lovingly into his eyes, touched his arm whenever he spoke, etc.
Somewhere in the middle of my *act*, he decided he liked it, and started *acting* like he was in love, too. I responded to his *act*, and started really falling in love. Our *act* lasted 5 whole years.
Actually, it ended up being the BEST thing I ever did...but I wouldn't recommend it to others. It does, however, add credibility to the theory that if you want to be/have something, "Act as if, and it will happen."
