(The Guardian)Florida's DeSantis announces voter fraud crackdown
Florida governor Ron DeSantis announced the arrest of 20 people this afternoon along with other measures as part of a crackdown on alleged voter fraud in the state.
The Guardian’s Sam Levine has more details on the move by DeSantis, who is considered a potential contender for the Republican party’s presidential nomination in 2024...
Now, let me make something clear here: every state has the right to enforce their election laws within the bounds of both their respective state constitutions and the U.S. constitution but part of me wonders how many of these arrest for outright voter fraud or whether they're because someone in state/local government screwed up and they're now covering their asses over it.....cases in point, Crystal Mason & Pamela Moses....
Mason said she didn’t know she was ineligible to vote when she cast a provisional ballot in 2016, but she was sentenced to five years in prison. Now, the Court of Criminal Appeals says an appellate court that affirmed her conviction must look again at the evidence of Mason’s intent.
