Interesting, nothing truly revolutionary yet, but we'll see how she gets on.

There's reasons why back over at GWF (give Vash and Company, Leandros notwithstanding, my regards!) I had Kamille as one of my ten favorite wrestlers because, like MJF, she is, for the women's locker room, one of those generational talents that, assuming Tony Khan doesn't bury her with pointless/stupid gimmicks, can pretty much write her own ticket to the stars.

I hope so, I just hate those ambush by the new big bad name on the roster moments and then pan to a picture of them looking angry with a smirk moments. Too cliche. That's not how you make an impact, that's how you make something yawn-worthy. So if she can step it up in the future, yeah, bring it on!

I agree...up to a point, Crystal.

I agree it wasn't the best way to introduce Kamille to the sickos; that said, you've got one of the, as Tony Schiavone put it, "One of the most dangeorus women in pro wrestling today," so you play to her strengths opening up and Kamille has got scray-as-hell strength and she showed it with torture rack on the Doctor and then a spinebuster/powerbomb.

There's maybe one other woman who could pull that off as easily as Kamille did and that's Kris Statlander.
Now if only Baby Khan would put those two women in a tag team at some point....Iron Women indeed. 😎

Oh I'm not saying her strength isn't impressive, she's beast level, just...don't do the ambush! It's such a done thing now. Especially with every single new member of the Bloodline in WWE coming in via ambush. Stop!!! Do something new, please!

You hated it too, didn't you?

I think there's another reason they did Kamille's debut the way they did.

Remember all the complaints AEW's gotten over hotshotting new talents to the tiitle scenes as they did w/both Mercedes Mone and before her, Deonna Purazzo? By introducing Kamille as they did, they not only gave her a helluva intro, they also ensured she won't be challenging either Toni Storm or Mercedes Mone anytime soon (unless they're playing a "Kamille Betrays the CEO" angle down the road).

Ok, that's fair. Very fair. Gives her a chance to build up.

if she debuted on ROH she'd 100% be hotshotted into a title feud. But because her name doesnt have the value of someone coming from WWE, she's relegated to being someones bodyguard lol.

*deadpans* Tell us how ya' really feel about Kamille...

She was the NWAs version of Charlotte Flair but with 0 charisma lmao. She's easily going to be the Wardlow in this situation, but the roles will be reversed and Mone will be the face.

I gotta push back there, setting aside how Charlotte Flair (WWE's resident women's creator pet) got her initial push (does anyone seriously think she'd gotta any push if she wasn't Ric Flair's kid?), Kamille has pretty much everything you want in a champion...

-She's a fighting champion who let her actions in the ring do the talking; too many champions nowadays talk a mile-a-minute
-Say whatever you want about the NWA but you don't hold a title (even in the pre-scripted world of wrestling) for over 800+ days without having some charisma and garnering the trust of everyone in the back
-Unlike some of AEW's past women's champions (Riho, anyone?) Kamille actually looks like someone who can deal a lot of damage in the ring and can carry herself inside the ring without looking like she's going to break a sweat

NOw as far as her intro Wednesday night? I agree with @PGen98 on the ambush angle; I didn't like it. That said, it eliminated the criticism that would've come had they decided to hotshot her to a title (you know, like they did Mercedes Mone for the TBS title) so I could definitely a betrayal angle btwn Kamille and Mercedes Mone down the road (which I'm sure would Willow Nightingale happy, given she was thrown under the AEW bus for Mone) and showing off Kamille's strength sets up a possible angle of her and Kris Statlander working together under Stokley Hathaway's management.

So no, she isn't the Wardlow of that situation and to say otherwise diminishes both Kamille and Wardlow (who, contrary to popular opinion, has some charism but was used badly in his feud w/MJF).

The NWA also didnt have anyone credible enough to take the title off her outside of Max the Impaler. Also the NWA is well documented in their year(s) long title reigns. A decade ago they had a tag team that was a charisma black hole in the DarkCity Fight Club, one of their reigns alone was close to 600 days. Chris Masters held the National title for close to 300 days and he couldnt talk worth a damn.

The only reason why she had the belt for 800 days is because she had Nick Aldis' backing, and Billy Corgan to this day is clueless on how to run a wrestling promotion (putting the world title on Tyrus, of all people?).

Kamille can look like she can beat up everyone all she wants...can she talk, thats the issue. That's why she's in the role that she's in.

can she talk, thats the issue
As long as I've followed the NWA, I can answer that question....yes.
Suffice it to say, we agree to disagree on this time.
