She was the NWAs version of Charlotte Flair but with 0 charisma lmao. She's easily going to be the Wardlow in this situation, but the roles will be reversed and Mone will be the face.
I gotta push back there, setting aside how Charlotte Flair (WWE's resident women's creator pet) got her initial push (does anyone seriously think she'd gotta any push if she wasn't Ric Flair's kid?), Kamille has pretty much everything you want in a champion...
-She's a fighting champion who let her actions in the ring do the talking; too many champions nowadays talk a mile-a-minute
-Say whatever you want about the NWA but you don't hold a title (even in the pre-scripted world of wrestling) for over 800+ days without having some charisma and garnering the trust of everyone in the back
-Unlike some of AEW's past women's champions (
Riho, anyone?) Kamille actually looks like someone who can deal a lot of damage in the ring and can carry herself inside the ring without looking like she's going to break a sweat
NOw as far as her intro Wednesday night? I agree with
@PGen98 on the ambush angle; I didn't like it. That said, it eliminated the criticism that would've come had they decided to hotshot her to a title (
you know, like they did Mercedes Mone for the TBS title) so I could definitely a betrayal angle btwn Kamille and Mercedes Mone down the road (
which I'm sure would Willow Nightingale happy, given she was thrown under the AEW bus for Mone) and showing off Kamille's strength sets up a possible angle of her and Kris Statlander working together under Stokley Hathaway's management.
So no, she isn't the Wardlow of that situation and to say otherwise diminishes both Kamille and Wardlow (who, contrary to popular opinion, has some charism but was used badly in his feud w/MJF).
