I only wish that were the case. I hate logging in and finding a whole freakin' page of nothing but forum games. Makes it look like that's all we do here is play those stupid games. There are only one or two that, IMO, require any thought.

I never saw the point in most of them to be honest. The only game I thoroughly enjoyed was the which gender is stronger game.
You started at 15 and all males counted down and all females counted up. Females would win if it hits 30 and men win when it hits zero. The fun was in trying to battle it out when neither side was able to win more then anything.
Another game I used to play on one forum was the which person can get their username as last poster in all games on the first page first? which isn't as easy as it sounds when both are really trying to win it.
I rarely see a forum not allow that forum to be filled with mindless crap not worthy of being posted. Most boards put it in to inflate their board's post count.
I can think of only one board that actually banned forum games and had no section for them and that's because the owner was a hard ass when it came to having quality discussions and content on the board which is why it was a kick ass board because of that fact.

Unfortunately no, the owner got too busy to run it and it closed down as a result. This was around two years ago.

No one buys free hosted forums on Invisionfree so that's why.
It wasn't closed just because of that but it did it in. I became admin and a month later the owner starts going inactive due to RL and the rest of the co admins retire due to RL leaving me as solo admin. I tried doing the job of four people and let me tell you that you can only do it for so long before you crack. I could promote someone but the owner did not want anyone promoting anyone to admin but her which led to good but incapable people getting the job instead of people that I felt could do the work and had the leadership qualities that an admin position requires IMO. We got into so many arguments because they insisted on having the powers of an owner but do none of the work which doesn't exactly work that well. I eventually just gave up and let it die out before closing it when I knew it was done for. It's a shame because I really enjoyed working there as I don't recall a moment of boredom in the sixteen months I was admin.

Nobody HAS to go in that section. Members who like to, I don't have a problem with. What I have a problem with is when you log in and the whole front page is nothing but forum games. That makes it appear that's all we do here is play games. I work hard and so do others to post new and interesting topics. They get buried under all the forum game posts. I wish there were some way that whole forum game section could be blocked from showing up under new content.
If you are a fan of the active topics pages which shows all new topics and topics that have gotten recent replies then I imagine forum games would bother you due to having to sift through it all to get to the actual content. That would be a good feature to have where a specific forum can be excluded from showing up as active topics.

What do I think about them? It is a way to increase traffic on the overall forum from those who enjoy such things. However, those that do usually don't venture often into the other parts of the forum.
