I remember a similar sort of posts happening on a backstreet boys forum I'm a member of. It was really hiliarious after a while. One I remember turned into a random chat thread more than anything. For me, backstreet was the first real forum I ever posted on, and the post I made on here that everyone's replying to is very similar from the first intro post we made on Backstreet. Once I get a little bit better I will do some hunting around and try to find it. Them, rather. There were several posts about the new board that were made. One was actually a poll about whether or not we liked the new board, another one was all of us saying what we liked about the new board, that kind of thing. I will hunt around for them later, as it's very similar to the topic I made on here.

I remember one intro thread I had (Princess will remember it too) on a forum... Where it went on for literally 20 pages... We talked about all sorts of off the wall things and finally the admins came in, deleted almost every post and made a new rule about not having discussions in introduction threads.

LOL. We discussed spaghettos, peanut butter, and shampoo (yes, Yes, YES!!!) And as I recall the story, that's where we met.

Although yours, mine, and Assassin's intro threads on FA were pretty funny too.

That's kind of what the ones at Backstreet were about. Some I remember off the top of my head were:

The best thing about THIS new board, is that I can get on from work again-Trish

All right, Trish! So that means we'll be seeing you on here more often, right? Me

Yep, unless I'm busy or the boss is lurking behind me- Trish

And then from there some random babbling about mind games, applesauce with cinnamon, and the power of manipulation all come into play. It was hilarious.

I think I found them all. These will give you a laugh. I remember it was just hilarious how one minute we're talking about the new board, and then the next minute we're going seriously off topic. Have fun!

I remember the one that ended up as a role play thread that went on for about 15+ pages on a board I used to run. I don't mind really as they aren't all that discussion worthy so don't care where they go tbh.

I don't really think an introduction post has turned into an off topic conversation on my current forum.

I remember a topic about catagorizing people into their countries becoming such a big convo that I had to make them post in another topic to discuss...

And immediately afterwards we hit our biggest inactivity, I think.

Yeah, it seems like at the end of the day they turn into general chat threads, a topic full of jokes/stories/question and answers... you name it! But that role playing one sounds like it would make for a very interesting read. The newcomer being the main character, and then everyone else jumping in and making up characters/plots/whatever. Sounds like something that would be fun. Topics like these can definitely be more interesting than welcome to <insert forum name here> enjoy your stay!
