Found Money In A Bag!

Well many years ago in my very poor days when I just got married the bills and medical bills were piling up I found 1400.00 dollars in a wallet at 5:30 in the morning in a apartments parking lot. Let me tell you finding that kind of money in those days was like finding $50,000. I looked around the empty parking lot and very much thought about keeping it. But I ended up looking in the wallet and found out the address for the home was a hundred feet away. Knocked on the door and found out it was the families rent money. Since those days I have managed to find and return three more wallets even one in Ecuador a very old man lost. Interesting story maybe I will share it one day.
So to answer the question if I found $50,000 and if it had some way to return it to it owner and it seemed like legitimate money not made by nefarious means I would return it. Otherwise I would keep it for a year and if nothing came up about someone looking for lost money it would go to my retirement fund.
