I hate free forum hosts though I did learn everything to do with forums on one. Now I have tried out hosting my own forum, its so much better and the things you can do are a hell of a lot better than free.

I'd recommend anyone wanting to use a free forum host to find out if the host offers backups and how much they cost. That way you can move on to real hosting when you think you are ready to make that leap.



However, I'd recommend that you start out on a or paid or free webhost and install your own forum software (free ones like: phpbb, smf, yabb, mybb). It might be a little tricky at 1st but you will get the hang of it sooner or later.
