Free Promo?

Have you ever thought of any negativity from others about your own forum or another forum or website as free promo? Cause one person may not like it, and anybody reading what they are saying may want to check out the place for themselves to see what's the problem. And basically you're getting free promo cause of that. But yeah, what do you think?

Umm... I myself have been guilty of clicking links to other forums where people say that it is really bad. Some forum owners might think that any publicity is good publicity.

Well think about it, someone took the time to get a little negative about your site just cause they don't like something. And are saying what they think to any amount of people. That's basically free promo and any one of them could decide to check out the place just to see why that person has an issue.

I would think this would have a detrimental affect not a possitve one for the forum involved. What forum wants a negative first impression by guests who were thinking about joining? Either I'm not following you or I'm the dimmest bulb in the lamp.

No forum does want a negative impression on them. But you also can't help what others think. And whatever they think, someone would want to see for themselves and wind up seeing it differently.

Sorry Jazzy! Not trying to be confusing or anything. Okay, someone hates on your forum or website. Someone else may want to see the site for themselves to see what the problem they have is. Lets say you have some issue with IC F. Maybe the color theme or something else. You mention it to several people. One or a few may want to see for themselves. In a way, hating or liking something is a double edged sword. Cause you may or may not have an issue with it. But it could be different for someone else. If that's still confusing for you my friend, I apologize!

When I read some negativity about another forum I always click the link to chck for myself. Sometimes it''s not always the case and it's just because that particular member had a bad experience with the said forum..
