This was a classic and treat that a family friend who I just called an aunt did. It's one of her best things she'd do for me sometimes way back in the day. I am just sad it doesn't happen as often anymore, but know what her secret is now.

Anyone else like this?

Fried chicken is good on it's own. Mashed potatoes and gravy are good on their own. Combine the two on one plate and you've got a winner!

I would rather go for a fried chicken in a roast meal. :D Nice bit of pumpkin, Kūmara (Sweet potato), potatoes, etc.

Sounds great, but I'm not a big fan of gravy. Leave it off for me. ;)

My favorite thing from KFC 😂

Fried chicken is a true art. I cannot make it very well. Seemed when i was a kid , it was a common dish and we had it in a lot of places. Now, very hard to find really good fried chicken.

I've never made it myself, but my dad and others in the family have. I dunno what it is about her fried chicken and gravy. It just went super good together and was homemade.

I think her 'secret' isn't a secret, honestly. She said just to keep all the flour you use along with all the seasonings you put in it to make the gravy. Always tasted amazing and sometimes my dad would forget that part.

I have a hard time cooking it right. I either undercook or overcook it. Can't seem to find that medium. And if I over cook it, end up burning the coating and then it's no good. I consider myself to be a farily good cook but the effort and pay off for me has not been rewarded so it's not something I make.

Yup, I feel like when anyone else does fried chicken it never turns out quite as good. I would love it to be like KFC or Popeye's! The gravy when she would make it turned into like a whiteish brown gravy cause she used chicken seasoning.
