I'd like to know why they aren't using the dogs who can smell/detect even the most minute trace of bombs and drugs.

You can't really use dogs to detect all bombs. Most chemicals are odourless, and some water based, meaning that there is nothing for the dog to smell.

I'm not sure what the numbers or stat's are regarding that bit of info, Dragon Master, but what we know is that the reason the groping and naked (radiation) picturing is happening is due to the failed underwear bomber. That we know. Sure, I understand security and think it's a necessary evil. But, to a point ... and this is a big one ... the TSA cannot be given carte blanche to behave in a way that would be considered a felony were it to happen on the street. I'm a frequent flyer. I'm not a criminal. What in the hell is going on? I'm forced to choose radiation or groping?

Playing devil's advocate here - what's next? The next muslim terrorist boards a plane with something stuffed in an orifice (undetected by groping) and the TSA are now granted the rights to do body orifice/cavity searches on all passengers, customers? Really, what's next?

And that bit I read here about women in burkas being excused from the new groping search really burns my butt. Really. oh boy .... grrrrrrrr!

Yikes, it's Thanksgiving - I better not give this too much more thought. I'm not flying today.

As long as these overly excessive security measures aren't being done at foreign airports then this will do little to protect you from terrorists. Besides, if you make a better screening machine then the terrorists will just find a way to get around it so really the only way you will ever be totally free of dangers is to be totally free of any sort of freedom then that begs the question of what's the point in being safe if you are no longer free?

I mostly see terrorists in much the same light that people saw communists back in the 1950's. They are made out to be this mysterious destructive far reaching boogey man that the government uses as an excuse to strip you of your freedoms and to justify starting wars to profit from them.
