....now if only the GOP will actually act instead of wilting...
Fifty-three percent of Americans say they want Republicans — not President Barack Obama — to set the nation's agenda in the coming year, says a new Gallup poll.

The survey of 828 voters conducted Thursday through Sunday found that only 36 percent said they wanted the Democratic president to steer the national discourse. That is down from the 46 percent who responded that way in a January 2012 poll.

In a November 2010 survey, 49 percent said they wanted the GOP in the driver's seat, compared with 41 percent for Obama.

The latest Gallup survey comes a week after Republicans retook the Senate and won the largest number of seats in the House since World War II. Kentucky GOP Sen. Mitch McConnell, who was overwhelmingly re-elected to a sixth term last week, will replace Nevada Democratic Sen. Harry Reid as majority leader when the new Congress is sworn in come January. Both chambers reconvene for the congressional lame-duck session on Wednesday.

The latest Gallup survey also found that while Americans would like to see the GOP in charge, "most are not expecting a major upturn in national conditions as a result of the Republicans' success at the polls," the polling firm said in its analysis.

While 34 percent responded that the country will be better off under Republican control of Congress, versus 19 percent who said that will not be the case, 44 percent said it won't make a difference.

"The midterm election provided a clear signal as to which party voters want to control Congress," Gallup said. "But, after four years of partisan gridlock, most Americans are not optimistic that the election's outcome will improve things."(Newsmax)

...knowing how things work in D.C., I wouldn't count on Republicans knowing what to do...then again, I didn't think I'd be slowly coming into agreement w/more and more things on the right, so who knows...

I just do not want to hear the words compromise. The democrats do not compromise with there agenda. It is way past time republicans stop being compromising rhinos and actually be the republicans Lincoln created. NO COMPROMISE!

Favorability for the Democrats has hit a record low as things go from bad to worse for the party after significant midterm losses, according to a new poll.
Only 36 percent had a favorable view of the Democratic party, a 6-percentage-point drop from before the midterms, the Gallup poll released Wednesday found. With the GOP standing with 42 percent favorability, it is the first time since 2011 the GOP has had a higher rating than the Democrats.

The favorability rating for Democrats is the party’s lowest since Gallup began asking the question in 1992.

“After the 2012 election, many political analysts focused on the GOP’s ‘image problem’,” the polling firm said. “Now, it is the Democrats who appear to have the more battered image. Their favorability rating has never been lower, and they are reeling from defeats that cost them control of the U.S. Senate and strengthened the Republican House majority to levels likely not seen in 90 years.

“On the other hand, the American public does not admire Republicans more, their numerous election victories notwithstanding,” Gallup continued. “Neither party can say it is making significant progress in improving its image among the U.S. population, but undoubtedly the 2014 elections augmented the GOP’s ability to shape the agenda in Washington and in state capitals across the country.”

The summary of those poll results should read: "All politicians suck. Just, right now, the Democrats suck slightly more."

I guess I'm in the small number of folks who wants someone with a heart of gold to step in and realize this system isn't working, that democrats and republicans are both equally idiotic and greedy and that our two-party system has screwed the average American over in the long run. No one is going to be happy when you compromise in this situation. One party is going to be bitching about one thing, and another party is going to be bitching about another. Fingers will be pointed. Blame will be placed. That is the nature of our government right now and it has been that way for a very long time. The only tragedy here is that the high percentage of people like the ones in this article sure as hell don't get that and don't want to get it.

There was one advantage to Congress being totally gridlocked and unable to do Anything, at all, period.

They couldn't do anything stupid.
