What's a game you thought you'd like but actually hated?

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22, that game was so bad. Back then I only got one or two games a year and to think I wasted it on this trash. I think for a while after this experience I wouldn't buy games without reading reviews first. I just totally trusted that Dragon Ball Z would make for a good fighting game.

Surprisingly, none. I bought all games I've ever played after careful deliberation, most of them I played demo / shareware versions first, read reviews, watched videos on YouTube, etc. No acting on impulse for me!

Assassin's Creed II, III...had such high hopes after the first one...meh. II was ok, but I really started to lose interest in the series and then III just confirmed it. When it started becoming a frequently released game, it was a bit of confirmation that I was right to leave that series behind. Admittedly, the newly announced Mirage does look decent.

Fallout 76 was pretty bad....bought it on release day and convinced all my friends to get it...

Cant really think of any others to be honest.

Battlefield 2042, this game is a disgrace and they should be ashamed for even releasing it in the current state.

LOTRO I thought I would love being a LOTR freak and all, but I think the game just makes me angry at it as I'm pretty lost in RPG worlds.

I felt that was the worst game in the franchise. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of them because they punish you, by not giving you max health, if you don't do everything to 100% in the missions which I found annoying.

So much potential, but they really did stray from the concepts of the first game and just started pumping out drivel.

I have played Super Sonic during my childhood. Initially, I thought that I would like the game. However, it seems like I never actually enjoyed playing it.
