Gaming with private servers?

Do you play any games that need to be run off of a private server?

If so, what game is it? Go ahead and talk up your clan, guild, alliance, or whatever your game calls them .

As far as I am aware, I've never played any video games that need to be run of a private server. This may sound like a stupid question but how would I know if one does?

I've never done a private server, though I have crashed a private get together for online plays. Was pretty fun

I only ever played two games on private servers. Ragnarok RO and another game that I, for the life of me, cannot remember the name of.

I have played a few games where I had the option to connect to private servers, but I rarely had anyone online that I wanted to play with, that I eventually decided to just play with whoever was online, in the general userbase.
