Gang sign or peace sign?

Okay well I am grabbing this one straight from one of my Facebook "friends" they posted the following as text with the image below...

Wtf?? Fruitports finest tossing up gang signs...given all the shootings and gang violence in Muskegon county I really don't find this funny. I'm glad to see my tax dollars at work.

I am interested in seeing what the Off Topix community thinks.

That's what I was thinking...then again, it reminds me of the old joke about the three gangs of Los Angeles: the Crips, the Bloods...and the LAPD. Sometimes, it was said, you couldn't tell who the good guys were...

That's what I was thinking...then again, it reminds me of the old joke about the three gangs of Los Angeles: the Crips, the Bloods...and the LAPD. Sometimes, it was said, you couldn't tell who the good guys were...

You know, it is kinda unfortunate that the bad cops stick out so much and get all the attention but we very very very rarely hear about the good ones :/

Anyway this cop is actually a local police officer for a nearby township around where I live and honestly I don't feel as though the cops in the area are that bad, however I never have to deal with them sooooo

That is very much true; for all the good that police do, it just takes one bad apple to ruin the lot of them.

Yeah, I can't say I would ever throw a sign like that up, granted I do live on the West Side of Michigan

sometimes when i throw up a peace sign to someone a finger does it's own thing and it doesn't look like a 100% "peace sign"... oh well, i'm a gang-banger know...

yeah, since it's so popular...

it's considered a gang sign when gang members do it, maybe, not when non gang members use it...

signing is using your hands to express yourself too, and to communicate, or just to be a goof...

people can throw up the west side sign and not be in a gang and be a gang-banger too...
