[font=Georgia,]So, maybe its just me, but I hate it when people mistake me as a he. But yeah, that occurs a lot on fora and on internet. Does it gripe you? Peeve you?

Doesn't bother me one bit. Some usernames you cannot tell the gender of the member. Some times if I'm unsure I will see if it's listed on their profile page information. I just checked yours and I see your gender is unknown. To be honest without that information, I don't know if your a male or a female. I don't really care either way but if you don't want to be mistaken for the wrong gender, then you should post it on your profile page.

I don't mind when people mistake me for a he. My user name is quite misleading, but my gender's on my profile. I do tend to set people right when they call me a he, you can usually tell who hasn't been on your profile XD

With a username like Dawn, I am often mistaken as a girl. I think people tend to judge gender by your username or your personalization (your avatar, wall, bio, etc.) There's no way to know for sure who is on the other end when you're online anyways.

If you hide your gender why do you get angry when people mistake it?

You mean their Sex?

Gender

Grammatical term dealing with the sex role identification of words and phrases. Most pronounced in Spanish and French and other languages. English is relatively gender neutral. Has been hijacked by social engineers because if they said 'sex' meaning 'male and female' somebody might blush. For the sexual identification of humans see 'Sex' and related terms.

Doesn't really bother me. Although I tend to use female avatars/signatures, I'm told my way of speaking comes across as very male, so I suppose that confuses people. It's no big deal though. If you care that much about people knowing you're male or female, put it in your profile. Or pull a Gaia and put your name, age, sex and sexual preference in your signature.
