Do you buy brands items at the grocery store or you into more to generic?

Both. But more and more I am buying, or at least trying store brands, especially if there is a noticeable difference in price.

Have you tried Kirkland (Costco brand) Avocado Oil? Actually the first Avocado Oil that I have cooked with; I like it. (y)

Depends. I go back and forth. For staples that truly taste better, I'll go with brand name. Generic is fine for everything else.

I probably cook more popcorn than most. So that's where most of it goes.
And I keep it handy for pouring a little dab in non-stick or cast iron frying pan sometimes; and for rubbing on chicken, fish or meat before putting on the grill.
Cooking popcorn in OO is good, but leaves a "heavy" taste; so mixing OO with coconut oil is also good and less 'aftertaste'. But in trying to "back off" on the coconut oil I thought I'd try some avocado oil.....it's lighter, NO taste, and I'm thinking that it's probably just as healthy as OO.
So........right now I'm mixing Avocado oil with Olive oil for popping popcorn. :D

Ok so Avocado oil it have light taste sound not bad for dishes that need less stronger flavour .When i go to Costco next time i will see how big it is the bottle i forgot the size  and maybe i get one to try.... you made me more curious now but for sure i will not use it to some traditional dishes, probably will not go :p

I don't eat popcorn often at all and ones in a blue moon i have some, i do take the one in the bag and put on microwave
after the disaster few years ago i don't cook them lol not that i scared just don't want to ruin another good pot
i forgot the damn popcorn while cooking and almost burn the kitchen down
maybe we can have a thread about all this stuff as not the last i even forgot a tea towel in the oven while cooking once :secret:

I always buy generics, I can't really afford the name brands, but I've come to find that I tend to like the generics just as much, if not moreso in many cases, so that's a nice benefit :)

The bottle they carry here is definitely too large to just try...2 liters; better to get a smaller size to try. :)

Lately I’ve been going towards the name brands. Seems like the quality of store brand products have gone down at the places I shop.
